We all know that flying at the front of the plane means a premium seat and a higher quality of service than for those of us at the back. Yet if you could choose, who would you say has the best first class cabin in the air?
As many of the readers of this website know, I’m fortunate enough to have many long haul flights as a Business Class customer. There is a clear step up in the experience compared to what most of us can afford with economy / coach seating.
Flying First Class is maybe not the exclusive club it used to be, however it is still beyond the price bracket or indeed choice of many.
In 14 years of almost constant frequent flying my experiences of true First Class travel is limited. Most notably of course were my flights as a First Class passenger with Emirates. You know I loved those experiences!
So it was with interest that I recently received an e-mail which linked to an article about the best first class cabins of all the airlines. It certainly makes for an interesting read. (You’ll find the link to the article towards the bottom of this page.)
The list of the top 24 First Class cabins was compiled independently and is naturally an area of subjective debate.
Singapore Airlines came out on top.
Whilst I have flown numerous times with Singapore I’ve never enjoyed more than the Business Class or economy cabins.
I do remember seeing Richard Quest of CNN taking the first ever commercial flight on an A380 which was with Singapore Airlines. The video footage of the first class cabin blew me away; come on guys for a starter there is a double bed!!!!!
Hopefully one day I can experience this for myself and report back. (I really need to rack up some Star Alliance points first though if I ever set my eyes on this dream.)
Emirates, who you know I love, comes in a respectable third for the choice of First Class Cabins. If they were much lower I’d be disappointed.
This article also lists the price to fly first class with these airlines. I wouldn’t get too drawn up on this. If the price is for a short haul flight is it really worth flying First Class? By the time you’ve taken off, hit the turbulence and prepared for landing on a short haul flight you’ve hardly had chance to watch a 22 minute episode of a US sitcom, never mind spread out and enjoy the pampering.
Tell Me What You Think Makes The Best First Class Cabin
Now it is over to you guys. I know from some of the comments and e-mails I receive that a few of you have enjoyed the First Class experience on your travels. Even if you’ve never been that fortunate you can still take part.
This is what I’d like you to do:-
Firstly, click this link and have a read of the article about the best first class suites in the air.
Now imagine that money is no object to you. Then in the comments section below I’d like you to tell me which of those first class cabins in the article you would like to experience and why.
Then tell me what would you like to see as part of the First Class cabin service / experience to make it the best First Class flight possible.
