Music festivals are a massive phenomena at the moment and seem to be everywhere. Yes literally everywhere! 2015 is no different to any other year. With the forthcoming Glastonbury Festival and V Festival in the UK amongst others plus the recent Coachella Festival in the US these are big events.
However the idea of outdoor camping, mud wrestling en route to the portaloos, being drenched in a downpour, freezing cold and eating fast food whilst drinking naff beer may not appeal to everyone. This is no matter how good the music may be.
I know that the thought of camping in a mud bath for a weekend with tens of thousands of others doesn’t appeal to me as much as it might when I was in my early twenties.
The great thing about music festivals is that they can cater for all tastes, accommodation and music.
My bride would always enjoy a Classical Music Festival whilst I’m very happy with Folk Music or Irish Music Festivals. In recent years I’ve attended my favourite folk festival in Ingleton a number of times. In fact I first went to the Ingleton Folk Music Festival to see the headline act Cara Dillon in 2002, she is a fantastic Irish Folk Music singer if you are interested?
We’ve also recently attended a folk music festival in Filey.
Overall the great thing about music is that we all have different tastes and we are all catered for.
I don’t think there is an ultimate resource to list all music festivals. So as a Yorkshireman myself I did a little bit of research as to what music festivals are available close to me this summer. I list below a wide range of music festivals I’ve found. They cover a wide range of musical genres so there should be a little bit of something for everyone. Sorry if I missed out on your event.

Are none of these appealing? Well why not look further afield for more music events here. Think you can do better? Then why not book your own session in a recording studio this summer? Simon Cowell could be listening.
Are you planning to attend any music festivals this year? Who do you want to see? Please let me know in the comments box below.
