The Emirates Lounge Manchester is full of comfort since refurbished a few short years ago. In fact I am writing this article whilst in the Emirates Business Class Lounge.
Free wifi, hot and cold food, a range of beverages and comfy seating are all within the typical Emirates Lounge standard.
Chauffeur service to the Emirates Lounge Manchester Airport
I am in the lounge at Manchester Airport awaiting my flight to Dubai on the magnificent A380. It is a journey which can often begin in comfort through the offer of a chauffeur driver. This is advertised as complimentary for business class travellers. People should be wary that there is a mileage restriction on how many miles are free. They pick you up from home and take you to the airport or vice versa. However, I think it is a 70 mile journey restriction before they start charging per mile.
Emirates do offer the service yet they use high class third party chauffeur services. Drivers are very respectful and dressed accordingly. I do find it a frustration though in trying to get a receipt for the extra mileage charges since I have to pay there and then. As a business traveller I even notify Emirates before hand that I need a receipt. Yet I find many of the drivers don’t have an official receipt. They take an e-mail address and promise for an e-mailed receipt to be sent out. In my limited experience these e-mails have never arrived.
More positively, the Emirates Lounge is a less stressful experience. Not only do you glide through a dedicated check in desk plus the Fast Lane through security, staff are pleasant and approachable. At both check in and entering the Emirates Business Class Lounge I was informed that the flight was delayed by 20 minutes. (This is fine since I have a few hours cushion for my connecting flight).
I was also informed by the Emirates Business Lounge staff that cold food was currently being served whilst hot food is to be served from 12:00 midday. All good information to know.
Decor and facilities
The décor of the lounge is bright, similar to magnolia coloured wall paper plus dark wood panelling in an aesthetically pleasing appearance to the eye.
Soft cushioned seats abound in a beige colour with some foot stools available.
Wall sockets are available for laptops users and those wanting to charge their phones. However the Emirates Lounge could certainly benefit from more sockets being available. As they say, get there early to avoid disappointment.
There is also a fabulous viewing area of not only gated planes but of an active runway. There is a frequent sight of planes taking off.
Food and Beverage
The cold food selection included prawn cocktail, salads, pastries and a range of delightful desserts.
Hot food included noodles, chicken tikka masala and for every Yorkshire man cod, chips and mushy peas! There was even a treacle sponge pudding with custard. Sadly a lady beat me to the last one on display before the next set were brought out.
The facilities, otherwise known as toilets, were immaculate. Lots of the wood styling was continued in the design of the décor. Proper hand towels were present and at least two fully functional shower cubicles in the Gents.
Overall the Emirates Lounge Manchester Airport experience is a pleasant one. However, since I was someone catching the flight on the A380 the number of passengers is higher. My advise would be to arrive early so you can get a seat of your choice and a wall socket if you need power.

If you are flying from Manchester Airport soon yet you are not flying with Emirates don’t worry. There are a range of lounges available and you can book your place from here.
Can anyone use the Emirates Lounge at Manchester Airport?
People keep asking me if you can pay to use the Emirates Lounge at Manchester Airport and I’m afraid the answer is no. (Although from 2017 you can pay to use their lounge at Dubai Airport). For now though per the Emirates website the policy on lounge access around the world is:
You can enjoy the Emirates experience before your flight in airports around the world when you fly First Class and Business Class, or if you’re an Emirates Skywards Platinum or Gold member travelling in Economy Class.

My verdict on the Emirates Lounge Manchester Airport
The wifi is reliable, the comfort high, excellent and courteous service and a good food selection. Naturally all meat is halal.
Emirates Business Class Lounges are always a high standard. In my view the Emirates Lounge Manchester Airport is one of the best across all of the airlines serving the airport.
