When you are collecting your checked baggage do you get annoyed by other passengers? The ones who just barge in, push in front and block your view?
I know I certainly do.
I’m one of the few diligent ones who follow the instructions. Those instructions are that you stand behind the line whilst you wait to collect your check in baggage from the luggage carousel.
Armed with my hand luggage only I stand waiting patiently.
Then someone comes barging in and stands in front of the line. They stand right beside the luggage carousel. I can’t see any more.
I have to lean in, bend over, stretch my neck, just any way to see my checked baggage amongst the large suitcases on the luggage conveyor belt.
The best place to be when collecting checked baggage
So I have a solution, well two in fact.
Only collect luggage in Norway, yes Norway. That is the only place where I’ve seen people obey the “stand behind the line” rule.
Stand at the end of the straight part of the luggage carousel. You then have an almost clear view straight down the line and people will struggle to get in front of you. (Though don’t put it past someone to try!)
Are you a compliant large suitcase collector? Do you stand behind the line as instructed so everyone by the line can see the luggage carousel?
If you like my tip then look out for me at the end of the straight line of the carousel. I’ll be there waiting for my checked baggage.
