Airline Industry in transition and the price of oil today.
Airlines not only try to mitigate their risk through hedging, they have also done this with pricing. It is highly noticeable to me how suddenly my flight tickets are priced, 50, 70 or maybe 80% higher than they were only a few years ago. Maybe my travel agent isn’t finding the best deal?
Undoubtedly the price of oil has put a strain on airlines and they try many methods to survive with falling customer numbers and higher input costs.
The Airline Industry in transition is likely to continue for a while.
